VM:Webgateway Configuration

Configuration File | Database Configuration Settings

VM:Webgateway stores configuration settings in a configuration file (VMWEBSRV CONFIG) and database file (VMWEBSRV PFMDB). The VMWEBSRV CONFIG file typically resides on the 191 minidisk of the VM:Webgateway service virtual machine (SVM). The VMWEBSRV PFMDB file typically resides on the 1B0 minidisk of the VM:Webgateway SVM.

Configuration File

The VMWEBSRV CONFIG file contains records that tell VM:Webgateway what the CPUID is, the location and cache size of the database file, the location of the CP online directory, and whether SSL or other VM:Webgateway products are in use. To change the VMWEBSRV CONFIG file, you must end VM:Webgateway and edit the VMWEBSRV CONFIG file to make your changes. The changes take effect when you restart VM:Webgateway.

Database Configuration Settings

The VMWEBSRV PFMDB file contains most of the configuration settings. Typical settings identify system administrators and operators, location of the server root domain, which TCP ports VM:Webgateway serves from, and whether users can serve files from user pages.

You can change and query the configuration settings stored in the database by using configuration forms from your web browser or entering linemode commands from a VM userid. Changes you make take effect immediately.
