Cyrus Chestnut has talent. He's also a very charismatic player. He also seems to have enough personal charisma that he might be able to become one of the next very large jazz icons. Perhaps in the near future he'll be as recognized as Wynton Marsalis. His piano playing is very lyrical with a good sense of swing and roots that draw some life from the blues. Wrap yourself up in this one and enjoy it! Also check out his debut album Revelation also on Atlantic Jazz. It's an album filled with Cyrus' warm, appealing, intimate piano tones. It's laid back, but by no means boring. Both albums are wonderful to relax to.
