My Wild Life - Grover

(Zero Hour CD ZH 1100-2, Copyright 1995, Time: 34:45)

Producer: Kevin Salem, Mitch Easter, Engineer: Tom Dube, Mitch Easter, Grover, Tracks: Yeah, I'm Dumb; Hole in My Eye; Bend; My Wild Life; Pretty Machine; Sweet Thing; Anesthesia; Superhero; Parachute; Heavy Past; Damaged Girl; I'm Dreaming

Angie Carlson (formerly of Let's Active where she was teamed with Mitch Easter) heads up this power-pop trio. Her voice is strong, though not necessarily pretty, with some of those soaring qualities that make for rather interesting listening. There are similarities to many of the bands of today that have a female lead vocalist, Belly, Breeders, Julianna Hatfield, etc. Grover are produced by Kevin Salem (who has a wonderful solo album Soma City on Roadrunner) with Mitch Easter producing 4 of the 12 tracks.
