This disc is fairly aptly titled. "Quietstorm" is perhaps not entirely indicative of the contents, but it does say something about the way Carter plays. There are a lot of fluid, mellow sounds emanating from his various saxophones (bass, tenor, alto, soprano) and other woodwinds (bass flute, bass clarinet). Some of this swings lightly, other tunes are just gorgeously fluid quiet jazz.
