Skirt feature a slightly more straight-ahead rock sound than their jammin' brethren (Phish, Blues Traveler, etc., etc., etc.). What they have that makes them stand out from that crowd is a very dynamic vocalist in Robin Wilson. She recalls Fleming McWilliams (Fleming & John) as far as pure strength goes. Robin's voice is lower pitched than most of the female singers who attempt similar vocal styles (Happy Rhodes, Kate Bush, Jane Siberry, etc.) which means that those comparisons are not precise.
