Cockamamie - Jennifer Trynin

(Squint CD JT101, Copyright 1994, Time: 40:51)

Producer: Mike Deneen, Engineer: Mike Deneen, Tracks: Happier; Better Than Nothing; Everything is Different Now; One Year Down; Snow; All This Could Be Yours; Too Bad You're Such a Loser; Knock Me Down; If I Had Anything to Say (Don't You Think I Would Have Said it All?); Beg; Do it Alone

Jennifer released an EP (See the review of "Trespassing" in Issue Number 13 (1989) - ed.) on Pathfinder Records in 1988 that could have fit very neatly tacked onto the end of Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark album (and that's a compliment - she's no clone!). She disappeared from the recording scene for a while and has resurfaced with a band in Boston. Cockamamie will bring many comparisons to Aimee Mann/'Til Tuesday as Trynin is working in that sort of power pop vein (not to mention the track "Everything Is Different Now" which virtually shares it's name with the last 'Til Tuesday album. The songs are well written (which is what I liked about her previous EP so much). The band gives her songs a little more lift and power.

Jennifer has recently signed with Warner Brothers who will reissue Cockamamie in the summer of 1995.
